It's like our Star Wars heroes were dropped in the middle of a bad star trek episode. This book & KJA's work turned me off Star Wars Novels until Stackpole brought me back for a time. Unless you are a masochistic completest - SKIP

This is my favorite of the Star Wars books that I've read, particularly the part that follows Leia's children.

This book is apparently horrible. I don't remember thinking that the first time I read it, but I'm rereading all my old SW books and I actually skipped this one. The scenes with Jaina and Jacen are great - because the overall tone of the writing is so juvenile, those are the only moments when it actually works. All other characters are behaving completely out of character, in juvenile, extreme ways.

Intensely predictable and long winded. The dialog in this book is as bad if not worse than the movies. I truly only read it because I'm trying to read all the Star Wars books in order of their release and this just happen to fall in there. I struggled to get through it because it was so tedious.

This is easily the worst Star Wars novel that I have ever read. Almost every one of the characters was well, out of character on many occasions and I didn't find the main villain, Hethrir, particularly threatening.
