Like any book I have read from Dean Koontz, I've enjoyed most of the beginning, loved the middle, but completely hated the end.

While I enjoyed this book, it wasn't the story itself that pushed me to finish reading it, but rather the intensely likable characters and the beautifully woven writing ability of Koontz. The story leaves you with many questions, though born of the many tangents they roam about, have answers that leave you with other questions- thus being a never-ending tanget. A pleasant read, but don't think too much about the loose ends.

A slow starter but picks up well and great read, with a bit something for every Dean Koontz fan.

It is a little boring in the beginning but at about half way through it gets good. My sister told me not to read the book because she got bored with it. I read it anyway and later, I found out she had stopped right before it got good. So keep reading even if it's totally boring! I loved the end! It almost made me cry.

Some of it is far fetched but a great read none the less. The ending has some loose ends. Written w/such detail the way only Dean Koontz can. The ending leaves opportunity for a follow up book. I loved it !

this was a very dissapointing book - I am not an avid Koontz reader, but this book made me stop reading his works for about 5 years... Of course, Koontz still does a great job at keeping the reader's attention and creating an intense atmosphere - this doesn't disguise the fact that this book probably has the worst ending that I could possibly think of. It felt like Koontz probably hit a block and wrote down the first ending that popped into his head. I would never read this again unless forced to by Jesus himself.

There is a lot I like about this book. It's a quick and easy read. It's light hearted and enjoyable to read. It blends styles and genres and ideas and all and all it's a ton of fun. I wish, to some extent, that DEL was explained and built on a bit more, but beyond that it's a prime example of Koontz's work in the mid to late 1990s.

This is the book that got me and my dad into reading Koontz books. You absolutely cannot put it down if you like this genre of book.
