I love Shelly's classic and I absolutly love this modern take on the classic. I think that Dean Koontz is a great story teller and this book fit- I couldn't have imagined a better rewrite! Although I am not tossing out my classic!!

Very very cool book, waiting to read the 2nd one until the third one is out. Hopefully DK will get off this Odd Thomas kick and get back to writing interesting books :-PAwesome new take on the Frankenstein story! Koontz's characters and dialog are fantastic, and the story sucks you in before you even get thru the first chapter. Stoked to read the next one!

Great story and book, Dean Koontz at his best, would like to have seen the series but the book is awsome, I'm on book two and hope it's as good as one. Old story in modern time New Orleans.

Excellent read. Reminds me of old Koontz, before he became too much of a formula writer, even if he still is a great at his game. His mix of dark humor (some spots will make you re-read and laugh aloud) and subtle horror (there are some truly horrible scenes he allows you to imagine) makes this a quick, easy, fun read. There's a good bit of social commentary, but not overdone. Ditto the use of smilies, and descriptions of architecture and landscaping, which he usually uses too much of. More than anything, this novel is to-the-point, but not missing anything. You feel as if you know each character by their words and actions alone, and will most likely be getting the next book in a hurry. I'm amazed he was able to use and "continue" the story of Frankenstein and his monster, without taking himself too seriously, and pulling it off. Ranks up with my favorites of Koontz's, including Watchers and Intensity.

This is the first Dean Koontz novel I have ever read. I don't know why I waited so long. I thought the story was very compelling. I will definitely read the rest of the series.

One of the best books I've read lately,and I read constantly. Fast paced,smart&funny. Iloved it! this book is fast paced,smart, funny and addictive! Can't wait for the next.

This was supposed to have been a television series. I must say that, halfway through this read, I would have been a fan. it's too bad that this one died at birth but also fortunate for us readers. This is my 1st foray into Koontz literature, but I now see what all the fuss is about. I'm already looking forward to book 2.

LISA DeROUDGE SAYS......IT'S A MUST READ,WELL WRITTEN .... EXCELLENT JOB AS ALWAYS BY DEAN KOONTZ, READING #2, CAN'T WAIT FOR #3*****"just lent it too a friendand feeling like an anxious mother when your child is away from you....LOL....this book is an excellent read and just keeps you in its grip....then again the author is Dean Koontz and his books are phenominal....CAN'T WAIT TOO READ BK #3....!!!!! A gripping, cannot put down read....totally enjoyed it!!

I had never read Dean Koontz's books before this one...Now.. I am reading them all! I am hooked on this trilogy and can't wait to find out how it all ends!

this was the most thrilling read iv had so far. enough to make me loose sleep i didnt want to put it down.
