The installment takes place years after the Rift war. Not as good as some of the earlier novels in the series it does introduce some interesting new characters. It also continues to hold my interest in the setting, I will go onto the next book in the series.

Possibly the weakest of his books, but you CANNOT skip this one because it introduces Nakor, who is probably the most interesting character Feist has. Pug *might* be more powerful, but Nakor is arguably more interesting.

another Great, i didn\'t read the first version, so can\'t compare the two, but this was brilliant, good characters, great plot with good twists, and whilst it is dark inplaces there is enough nice bits so this doesn\'t overwhelm the book.

I have just read all of his books - yes from book 1 - where it all started with good old pug etc. and I love his style of writing. trouble is now that I have read all is that I have to wait until he writes some more!!
