Awesome, and couldn't put it down! I had to get the rest and read the whole trilogy! each book got more entertaining, but also more gory. The last few were almost too hard to read they were so wicked. I'm on "rise of Blood and Stone" now and it's very gory.

It didn't strike me blind, and I didn't claw my own eyes out after reading this book, but I came close. Cardboard characters, nonsensical plotting, and the most blatant, uncreative use of tropes I've seen in a while.

The first I've read of the fantasy genre. Not my cup of tea. It is like reading a children's book written in detail for adults. I find it readable, have managed to gulp down its almost thousand(?) pages. (i dont know it was long) It is definitely catchy. I am sure there are better fantasy books out there, so maybe this is not in the list for fantasy beginners.
