I was a huge, huge Verne reader in my pre- and early teens, and I remember this one quite vividly. the idea of an island populated with men only did something for me when I was ten

Great book. It is somehow the book revealing the destiny of captain Nemo:))Amazing detail and research. It says a lot about his background and knowledge as a writer.

A bit slow in the rising action, but this Verne classic still proves to be a great sequel to Nemo's debut adventure.

The book tell the story of a group of war prisoners during the civil war in America that try to escape in a flying balloon. They land on an uninhibited island where they have to invent everything by themselves. One of the best books I've ever read, it's also the book that made me love reading. Truly the work of a genius!
