love this i like the way all the mains are intorduced tho it is a little long and i thouroughly enjoyed the ending Tamora Pierce absolutely rocks!

Isn't just about Sandry, but all four kids. It was a bit long in the intro about how they were isolated. Should have moved them right to Discipline Cottage and cut the dorm business. Was a good introduction book, but could have used more specific info on Sandry.

I dont like the Summersea world as much as Tortall but its a good book all the same. The story of four young mages who have failed to fit in with people of their own age. Together they build a bond with more than just friendship.
