It was the best of the Dark Tower books thus far. Sadly, I hear from other friends that have read the series that this is the best one out of the seven. Here's hoping the rest are good...

I love this series overall. I found book one difficult to get through and I was so thankful I gave book two a shot. I like this book the least. I found it sappy and boring. I wanted to get back to the present story which had me enthralled.

Little perturbed that this installment is nearly ALL back story. Still, King brings the small town of Hambry to life, as well as its inhabitants. You feel as if you know them. You love them and you hate them. I found this one a bit hard to get through, but I very much enjoyed the end, which conned me into giving it an extra star.

Good if you can deal with the insane length, and the fact much of it is depressing.

My favorite of the Dark Tower Series, which is one of the better fantasy series which I've read. Goes through Roland's history, which is the aspect of the stories that I like the best, but doesn't really advance the modern day story-line very much.

Another great book in this series.. takes you back to Roland when he was 14 years old and his adventures back then.. a very long read but worth it..

 King flips the script on
you once again and follows
up Book 3's sci-fi with an
awesome romance/western novel
that is way better than anything
you'll find in the Western or
Romance sections at your local
bookstore. This saga is your
all-in-one legacy of Stephen King.
He proves that he's not just a
"horror" writer but a living
legend!

This book was incredible. It was long, intriguing, and one of the saddest books I've ever read. It was wonderfully well-written and believable, and the end, though inevitable, was like a shot to the heart. King's Dark Tower series is easily my favorite work of the author, and this book is the best in the series, so far.

I loved it. Others that i know who read this installment said it was the hardest one to get through. I didnt feel that. I loved Roland's background story. The only reason its not a 5 star rating is because im just that anxious for the Ka-tet to get to the tower!
I loved it. Most people i know who read this installment said it was the hardest to get through. I didnt feel the same way. I loved the background story for Roland as well as the first major references to other works of fiction, two of King's and one other. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star rating was because, although i loved the bakground story, i still want them to get to the damn tower!
