It was refreshing to read a book that took a more humanistic approach to the traditional cloak 'n dagger story, but Greene's absurdities can make the plot a bit difficult to follow at times.

I don't know if this is the same story I read long time ago ...but if this is then I loved the description of the emotional play that is at work between the hostage and the captor
