One of my favorite King books, it's in a lot of people's bottom few. I don't know why, it's a great claustrophobic thriller -- when I was reading this, my cat creaked a floorboard and I literally hit my head on the ceiling (I had sloped ceilings above my bed as a kid).

An amazing book. Not suggested for squeamish people; however this can be said for all Steven King novels.

this really could have been a short story. not one of King's longer books (the tommy knockers, the stand, etc.) but 322 pages is 300 pages too long.

This was the first Stephen King book that I read and probably still the most terrifying. There are no supernatural elements -- it is terrifying because it is completely plausible.
