Dirk Gently, is a self-proclaimed holistic detective who operates his agency based on the idea of the fundamental interconnectedness of all things which helps to solve crimes, everything from missing cats to murders. People are skeptical of his methods but he proves that as strange as his ways may be, he gets the job done. Admittingly, this is the kind of that a person would laugh out loud because of its ridiculousness at times (such as a horse appearing suddenly in a bathroom!), but in a good way. There are tons of witty lines and a great collaboration of themes creatively woven in from time travel, mystics, mystery and more. It is a bonus with the British charm that this book holds. Definitely a good read with a slice of pizza.

Great novel, way better story and actualy much funnier than Hitchhiker's Guide ot the Galaxy. Not quite as random and the jokes aren't as frequent as Hitherhiker's but overall the jokes pack that much more of a punch.

This book was horrible! I read the first 50 pages and haven't yet to discover any resemblance of a plot decided to forget it. LAME! FYI: I am a HUGE Douglas Adams fan so it isn't the type of humor that is the problem.

So absurd, funny....sometimes you can lost in those complicated dialogues about world connected to technology - pc - electronic monks etc :D But goood anyway very interesting one!
