The book depicts the dangers of obsession and does not glorify the actions of the protagonist, Humbert Humbert, but it is masterfully written in a way that somehow draws you into the mind of the pervert himself. The author has a way with words that he uses to try and gloss over the shocking content and seduce the reader, just as he has the young girl, Lolita. He also includes allusions and puns that alert readers can use to see through his charming defenses. I usually love this kind of word play but, unfortunately for me, I just couldn't get past the whole pedophilia theme. Had the book been about anything else I think I could have loved it. But it wasn't and I trudged through it while trying not to be too disgusted.

Tried reading it when I was too small.My aunt was surprised to find me read this book .I wdidn't know why she was surprised.Later I found out ,It had adult content!!
