This was first Philip K. Dick textual experience. As I can't yet compare it to his other work, I'll say that I was definitely satisfied with the flow of the story and especially with how he documents the thinking of Jason Taverner and the paranoia of both him and Buckman. The conclusion was explained in much detail, maybe a little too explained. After such a strange story, I kind of wanted some ambiguity to hang over me, but overall, such a page-turner and I look forward to reading more of his work.

very interesting story and characters, alot of sympathy shown for damaged people. but most of the characters are quite weak and are just product of their enviroments , no more.. which can be very frustrating sometimes. the force of creativity is not really shown in any of the caracters except maybe in cathy, but shes nuts

This is a really great Philip K Dick book, one of my favourites. It has a great twist and strangly, a very happy ending.

Flow My Tears has a different feel than many other PKD novels, though it shares common themes with the rest of his work. Whereas many of his novels begin from an accessible, human point and become weirder, this novel begins strangely but ends on an emotional, human note. A television star suddenly loses his identity and struggles in a world where no one knows him. At the same time, the Police General who is pursuing him is struggling with his role in a totalitarian society. The book has a feel somewhere between The Matrix and The Truman Show. While at times the writing is a bit fuzzy and the ending seems forced, it packs an emotional punch unlike that of most PKD novels.

Years ahead of his time, Philip showed his talent in this book. His form of writing, his character's individuality and his seamless way of weaving you into their world and understanding their thoughts is amazing. Anyone who enjoys Sci-fi, who is weary of the new books these days that go on for 5 and 6 books, should definitely take a look back at the pages of this Classic.

No one does Sci Fi the way Philip K. Dick did Sci Fi. Here the author blends the man-on-the-run story with a quest for, and an exploration of, identity. The ending is somewhat infamous and you'll either appreciate the reasons for Dick's choosing to write it as he did, or you're going to feel cheated. It's always one or the other. Regardless, the journey to that ending is worth the price of admission. Just another book by the master.
