Though the novel begins rather slowly and doesn't get rolling until about half way through, it does end up as a very thought-provoking PKD novel. Set on a sparsely populated Martian colony, an autistic child is discovered to have the power to not only see the future, but to control it. The unscrupulous, in turn, try to turn this to their advantage. Many typical Dickian themes here-- madness vs. sanity, abusive authorities, paranoia.

Very intricate in its vision, especially when compared to Dick's more vague novels; Martian Time Slip was very good and though it lacked the twists usual to his work it did have the same mood and atmosphere with genius insight.

In the beginning I thought the book wasn't so special, there wasn't much interesting happening... but soon I realized that this book really isB R I L L I A N T. It starts getting more and more interesting and exciting.. And the ending is shocking and sad and happy and also instructive. Those who like sci-fi: Read it! Those who don't? Read it too! :)
