If there is such a thing as a bad Dr. Seuss book, I've never heard of it. His books are timeless, in more ways than one, because they are good for children and adults, this decade, and in all the other decades I've personally experienced, and they will be just as good for whatever decades are remaining.

May come as a surprise to most people that this children book is one of "The 100 Best Business Books of All Time" (http://www.100bestbiz.com/more-on-the-100-best/), but it certainly deserves its place there. Great to know that your children books' author possessed a lot of wisdom

ha ha ha ! I read this book then bought it and its still in its wrapper. Which is COMPLETELY UNLIKE me. Books are meant to be read of course but I loved this book so much. I can think of a few young adults that could use this book!I think as I get older that I am going to say never mind baby presents that are good for only a couple of mths and instead buy the parents good books for their babies instead. This book has a great message and I highly recommend it for people of all ages!

I highly recommend giving this book to any high school or even college graduate. To me, the book said--the possibilities are endless.

I was introduced to this children's book last year. Since, I read it over and over again. It's such a jewel that every grown-up should have on her bookshelf. I give some quotes here. (It's difficult not to quote the whole book.) You're on your own. (Not something we would like to accept.) And you know what you know.(Trust yourself.) you're too smart to go down any not so-good-street.(How often do I go down streets I should never have!) And when things start to happen, don't worry. Don't stew. Just go right along. You'll start happening too. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest. (This got some eyes rolling.) Except when you don't. Because, sometimes, you won't.(So simply put - in a children's book.) You'll come down from the Lurch with an unpleasant bump.(Always ouch.) And the chances are, then, that you'll be in a Slump.(Can't win?) Un-slumping yourself is not easily done (That's the truth.) Then the writer describes the "Waiting place", where you do not want to stay, but moving away from there, you land where there are scary things "that can scare you so much you won't want to go on." Now this is a honest, but upbeat children's book, worth having! And it gives good advice too! "And never mix up your right foot with your left"

This is one of the greatest books ever written! Forget self-health books and mental health experts...If you are at an impasse, an overpass, or an underpass in your life this book will encourage you and lift you up. It is amazingly astute and actually made me cry the first time I read it. "And you will succeed...98 3/4% guaranteed!"

Even though this is sold as a Children's book, every time I read it to my short people, I'm struck by how much it sounds like the 'Wear Sunscreen' advice to graduates. This is about going out on your own and the whole, wonderful future of your life is spread in front of you. I love the message, but small kids are going to miss alot of it. This is a book to give to a kid when they're ready to start hacking at the apron strings, and it can be hard for parents to see when that's the best thing for them. Still love the book.

The first time I read this book I thought; "Whoa! Talk about your way different kinda Dr. Seuss!!" It is absolutely NOTHING like his usual books. This one is the kind of book I wish I’d been given by my parents while I was in school, then whenever I started feeling down about where life was going I could’ve cracked this one open to get a lift. I completely, totally, and unashamedly beg every parent to give this book to their children. Read it with them, make sure you read it first so that you can get the rhythm and the "emotion" just right. You know Dr. Seuss, all his books have to be read with some sort of emotion. This one has high points and low points too. If I could give this book an infinite amount of stars I would! Long Live the gift of Dr. Seuss!!!
