a short story, an old fisherman and how he battle with the 'big fish' and the sharks...in the end, i still don't know what kind of 'big fish' is this >< mm...okay, i got that he is trying to tell you that being a human, you need to have faith and pride of yourself, do not give up easily is the moral of the story, but whether this is a 'good' book that worth for a Nobel prize...I don't know, I only know that after reading this book, my feelings are tired and angry....

Cat sympathizer Ernie Hemingway wrote this epic tale that had me on the edge of my cat basket. Will the brave Santiago return home to his felines with a massive fish? Or will he fail and be shunned by them for the next few weeks? The ending is tragic for all concerned, particularly the poor moggies who have to settle for crappy old Snappy Tom once again. >:-(

I'll always be grateful to my French teacher in middle school for making me read it. I did not appreciate it when I was eleven (what is this damn story about a fish?). By the time I turned 13, it had become one of my favorite.
