This is a less thrilling read than Lies my teacher told me, but if you love his work than you will be glad to have looked into this book. Not one you can as easily read cover to cover, more of a pick it up at any place kind of book.

Call me sick, but I like to know the truth about things; the lies/myths just don't interest me that much. For instance, it is total fabrication that at the time of Columbus most people thought the world was flat. Even the Catholic Church, those progrssives of the old world, said the world was spherical (not round) by the time Columbus sailed. I'm a history hobbiest and feel I know more history than the average joe, but this book held surprises for me on virtually every page. I was often amused but sometimes angry at how misleading our historic sites (and history lessons) tend to be. I hope a lot of people read this and start demanding accountability in our public spaces.

i forget everything in this book. it had that much of an impact on me. this is a good toilet book. it will probably come in handy if you run out of toilet paper too. you aren't going to get any life changing revelations out of this one.

...or more correctly "Lies Across America". I had a hard time with Loewen's very inflammatory language but found that, despite it, he makes some very solid point about how history is told through sites, monuments etc. across the U.S. A good illustration of Heritage vs. History.
