I simply love this book...it transports us into a magical world...the language is rich and beautiful...flowing like a river . i bought this book first when i was in 2nd grade , now im 12th but still i find peace when reading it.

This is a collection of wonderful stories about a place not as magical as Narnia or endearing as the Hundred Acre Wood but a good place to be. In fact, reading these stories in their entirety for the first time I catch snatches of Narnia and Redwall, but especially Redwall. Three Cheers for Mr. Badger, Mole, Ratty and Toad!

I never read this as a child and didn't know the plot despite having a vague old memory of a scene from an animated version of the story with flamboyant Mr Toad in a motorcar. It is a brilliant read and life really wouldn't be any fun if characters like Mr Toad didn't exist, although everyone needs a Badger, Ratty and Mole to hand too.

it was a fun read for the girls. it was our first chapter book that we read together. it was fun so see them excited about what was going to happen in the next chapter.

This makes you feel warm inside. I came to it as an adult and never found it superficial or alien. I suspect this is not just a children's book:-).
