If you have pre-teens who don't like reading, get anything by Haddix! My kids can't get enough. I've read them all, too. Fast, easy enjoyable reading.

this book is extremly great it is a book that you just cant put down....i loved it....it had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happened next.....i love her books

wonderfully thought provoking,... people wonder what if there isn't enough food for everyone,... what would the government do to solve the problem? These books are written from the perspective of children up to teenagers. The books are small enough and quickly paced that even reluctant readers will be quickly enraptured. Now one of my favorite series!!!!

Excellent way to introduce the shadow children series. Even though it's an upper elementary level book, the story is very though-provoking about the power of government. My 4th grade class loved it when I read it to them. Really got the conversations going on our social studies topic of citizenship and the importance of voting and knowing what is going on.
