A fine novelist revisiting her Earthsea "triology" after 20 years of living and thinking about its gender and age implications. One of the most sophisticated and profound reflections on gender that I think you can find in a novel. I love pretty much anything LeGuin writes . . .

When I first read this book, I didn't like it at all. Then years later I reread the entire earthsea series as a whole and I enjoyed Tehanu as a conclusion.

Hmm... what can you say. In the first 1-2 chapters everything is given away for the ending. It is boring and an unnecessary book. Looks like she's trying to kick start the series again. If you liked the first 3 books, then stop there. If you do start reading this book, it gets a bit better by the end (which isn't really an ending).
