This is pretty cute, I like the art work in the book. I got this by mistake, I wanted to start reading the Spiderwick Chronicles after I saw the movie, did not realize it said at the top, Beyond, which meant it is a second series, So I will go back and get the first book from the first series.

Meh... I prefer the first original series of Spiderwick. I won't continue that one. I dunno the magic is gone for me in this one!

these books are cool. read the whole series it wont take long i swear. theyre awesome. read the whole series it will take you like a day.

Certain books have a wit and charm that appeals to adults even if intended for children. J.K. Rowling, Roald Dahl, Eoin Colfer are some authors I can think of that have managed this. I would say the same for the Spiderwick series. This is the first book of the second set of Spiderwick novels. It was enjoyable, but not quite as good as the first set. The first set of books was brilliant. The characters in this one felt a little bit like cardboard stereotypes and the plot had the considency of watered down soup. Still there was enough charm left in it to keep my attention and I was quite happy with it in the end. The ending excited me and I am eager to see where the next book goes. It is hard to judge a series on the first book, the characters have been introduced the backdrop has been set... we will see what the next book has in store for us. Even if this series doesn't live up to the first series I still expect it to be good.

So far, although I don't really care for the depiction of the Grace children in this sequel series, I actually like the story better. It's continued to the subsequent books, rather than having each book be an encounter with a new creature.

Don't really know why the authors had to make a continuation of the series they aren't as well thought through as the others and not nearly as indulging.

It was good so far, not as good as the first spiderwick. But it's been so long since I last read that book, that by the time the 2nd book came out I forgot a lot of what happened. so I will wait until all the books are out then read them one after the other

How can you not like the Spiderwick Chronicles?! They're all great tales of curious beasties. In The Nixie's Song, Nick and his step-sister Laurie vow to help find a local nixie's sisters. While they get in touch with the Grace brothers, the nixie is left to sing to calm the giant sitting by her pond. Will they be in time to her?
