Not a tough read but a tough read. Amzingly slow after the Narnia books. Good try. All his other books are right on...

I really couldn't get into it, and I figure, life is too short to read a book you can't get into. But, according to our book club, this has some great Christian analogies.

An amazing adventure! It made me question fundamental assumptions, I didn't even know I had made, about language. This trilogy is by far my favorite fiction series.

I hadn't read this book for several years, and it was better then I remembered it to be. It's pretty short but is very interesting. C.S. Lewis had a talent for describing imaginary places and things in a way that makes sense and is very reasonable with his fiction. The idea that Earth is the only crummy planet in the solar system because Satan lives here makes sense and is a good foundation for a Christian science fiction story like this one and the other two books in Lewis' Space Trilogy.

Very different C. S. Lewis and a very good book. He was influenced by H. G. Wells "War of the Worlds". However, the focus is not on Martians taking over the Earth but rather why Earth is alone and --- silent. As always, C. S. Lewis makes us... take a second, third, and well just keep looking - view of who we are, why we are here, and what on earth are we supposed to be doing here.

Really enjoyed it. Bridged the gap between old-school sci-fi and the newer stuff. Also, his way of describing the world (all worlds) and how they function beyond the obvious was intriguing.

Wow. Looking at how they classify this book. How funny. This book is as much science fiction as Narnia or the Lord of the Ring series are just fantasy novels. An interesting read.
