Bloody awful. It is good thing for Barker that horror is a niche genre. I can't understand how he has made a living from writing his style is dreadful. Cheap and tacky!Bloody awful. Bizarre concept behind this one to say the least, yet it works so well you almost forget the impossibility of what is happening. Loved it from cover to cover.

I've had this book for years and finally sat down and read it. Good stuff -- you can tell this is his early explorations into the world of fantasy, but it's still full of Barker-esque horror.
