This fifth novel in the Honor Harrington series by David Weber is a must read for sci-fi and Honor fans. The more I read about Honor and her treecat, the more I want to read about them.

I was especially struck by Chapter 7's caustic description of an out-of-control socialist state. Fascinating.

Un des meilleurs épisodes de la Série. L'auteur glisse légèrement vers la science-fantasy en explorant le monde féodal de Grayson.

This is book two of David Weber's domestically focused books in the Honor Harrington series. It has some similarities to Field of Dishonor, but has the added advantage of another space battle at the end, signaling the return of Honor to where she belongs.

One of my favorite books in the Honor Harrington Series, but you have to read the preceeding books in order to enjjoy this one. On the plus side, those books are amazing as well.

The whole series is fantastic, and perfect for some escapist reading.

HOWEVER, if you're not a fan of the Space Opera genre, then I wouldn't recommend it. The series is very detail-oriented, and there are lots of characters.

 More of the Honorverse!
This is a great follow-up to "Field of Dishonor." It takes the story further and gives a new level to the characters surrounding Honor Harrington.

Wow. I'm at a loss for words with this one. Everything that happens here would seem impossible in the last book. David Weber once again does the impossible and pushed progressin even further. It's as if the series is evolving...not simply continuing.

A good sequel but somewhat tedious if you prefer action packed stories.

As a consequence of her actions in "Field of Dishonor", our hero leaves Manticoran Fleet and returns to Grayson, where she was previously bequested significant political power. At the same time, war between Manticore and Haven has reached a stalemate, which needs a quick resolution. A risky gambit by Haven gives Honor Harrington yet another chance to shine and win new glory in yet another grand scale space battle. If you're into military sci-fi (which I am) and like the character of Honor Harrington (which I do), then this book is for you. However, there is a couple of things that are starting to annoy me more and more with this series. First of all, Honor Harrington herself - her "perfect" persona starts to remind me of Harm Rabb in TV-show "J.A.G". At first very likeable, but the further one gets into the story, the more annoying the character becomes. Harrington never makes mistakes, always takes the right decision in the end and never ever looses her coolness. In this book she is troubled by doubts about her ability, but even when she goes through that personal crisis of faith, one knows that she will pull it off. And I have to say that this perfect woman starts to bug me a little. :-)
