It is easy for the uninitiated not to know how generous Stephen King is to his readers, how much he is willing to let us behind the curtain and see his real motivations and the artistry behind the prose. In EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL, King gives us 14 stories originally published in The New Yorker, previous collections and The Magazine Of Fantasy and Science Fiction. My favorites were AUTOPSY ROOM FOUR, THE MAN IN THE BLACK SUIT (winner of the 1997 O. Henry Award), 1408 (made into a movie in 2007 starring John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson and Mary McCormack) and the eponymous EVERYTHING'S EVENTUAL.

Good to take with you somewhere to pass time. Thoughtful stories, not the usual King gore that turns some ppl (like me) off half the time.

i love the short stories from stephen king, he really know how to pull you in and not let go!!!

Like most Stephen King short story collections, some are great and others are pretty lame.

One of my favorite collections of short stories from any author. Each one is really different, some really terrifying, some very visual, some very depressing. But each one was readable and so different form the rest that it was always a new experience when you transitioned one one story to the next. Novels may make the author, but short stories are the ones that show who he really is.

That's right: 3.5 stars. But consider this: the title story, "Eveything's Eventual", makes the whole volume worth checking out. Especially if you find it for $3 dollars in a used book store, like I did. Rest of the stories: not my favorite. It's probably the genre.

just because he admits he's not good at writting endsings doesn't mean it's ok that he doesn't write even sub-par endings...sorry stephan but you waste my time from the 3rd last chaptor every time.
