This book gives us a great look into how the world of Diablo was before Tristram. You get a lot of history about the prime evils as well as the High Heavens. Not too much about the mage clans...

Richard A. Knaak proves that even a computer game can be weaved into a good story. This book is set three thousand years before the darkening of Tristram, and slowly introduces the characters of Diablo, Mephisto, Baal and others. It gives life to the wizardry and spells from the game, creating a realistic support to the fantasy storyline.

I'm looking forward to reading the other books in the series, and to playing the game again soon!
