"lesser than Macbeth and greater... not much happy yet much happier."Read it about 20 years back, I still recall the irony of fate in the whole book. It rises above what man can do and establishes that - all the world' is a stage..!

Out of all the Shakespearean books, this is definitely my favorite. Lady Macbeth's acting out of trying to wash her hands of the tragedy is so profound in describing her internal struggle....

Written very well!At the time when politics just meant poisoning for love, a brave attempt by Shakespeare to explore the actual political arena :)

This book was a Senior English selection, and not a favorite. It may have been how it was taught, or that I don't have the patience for Shakespeare. I didn't like all the gory details, and I didn't see how Macbeth was a hero in any way. We read this in Senior English. It drove me crazy, but maybe it was how it was taught. Overall it was an interesting story, but not something I would read again.

extreme social climbing, mental breakdowns, literal backstabbing and witches. Enjoyed it. Murder, the Supernatural, Treachery, Insanity, Extreme Social Climbing...what's not to like

I liked this one alot. The notes pertaining to the dialect help you understand it better. Another classic tragedy.
