This stuff just doesn't catch or keep my attention, and I'll read anything, even the ingredients label if nothing else is within reach... Shakespeare may be classic, but is just not interesting. At least it's short... I can't expound on the plot of this story because after re-reading sentence after sentence I eventually tuned it out. It was work to finish this and I know why I had never read it before...

Oh how I wish Katherine had just kicked her husband in the balls... instead of morphing into a pleasantville housewife... how depressing

A fun and light hearted Shakespearian comedy, The Taming of the Shrew is an enjoyable play for anyone who enjoys abundant, if sometimes not so subtle, sexual humor.

This is one of Shakespeare's weirdest plays, and a lot of fun...and I think Shakespeare received too much credit for this work.

Sometimes I think Shakespeare was a woman! :-)
Or that he read women' minds as easy as he wrote his plays.
Still, even so, one can not see that Katherine's spirit is not entirely controlled by Petruchio, fact that leaves us to believe that Petruchio, like Katherine, has understood the need for compromise, that we can't entirely change the ones we love and accept them as they are.
In my opinion, the Taming of The Shrew shows can be regarded as a play for a good marriage.
A long and good relationships has ups and downs, fights (easy ones, not hitting) and make ups, sun and rain.Like life,in a way. Even if sometimes is hard for our ego, we must learn to respect the opinions of others, if we truly care for them.
Hence, the taming leads both ways: the taming of Kat,and the taming of Petruchio. Love and understanding tame everyone.
To be read while listening to Leonard Cohen's music
