Love Steven King, love reading Steven King, didn't love this book, tho. Reads well, just doesn't deliver IMO.

I don't think this is King's best work, but it was a fun read. A sheriff and his deputies in a small American town hang on to an old Buick because it is a portal to another world. One deputy goes in the Buick, which they store in an old shed, and he disappears and doesn't return. Occasionally, alien plants and creatures will come out of the Buick but they all die quickly in our atmosphere. The book is written as a conversation between the old sheriff and the young son of a deputy. Easy to read, but not overly memorable.
