The beauty of Laymon is his ability to delve into the depths of the human mind that few people would care to admit exist. All those nasty or evil thoughts that flitter through your mind and are then gone in a flash are exposed by this brave and brilliant author. This is one of his finest, and the first Laymon book I read. If you are creeped out easily, then give this guy a miss! Many a time I've been so scared I couldn't move from the couch with fear!

Very good. The horror in this book comes not from the earthquake itself, but from the human evil that is unleashed afterwards, as various people try to take advantage of the panic and disorder....

Brilliant, classic Laymon, again, you feel their pain, you smile at their joy, and at the end of the book your'e glad they kill that dirty pervert (sorry if i've spoilt it for anyone)
