Wasn't bad, a bit of a return to form with this one being closer to his earlier works. More bloodythirsty and violent than some of the other, later stories this one by any other author would be four stars but for James Herbert it's only a 3.5.. good story but he can do better.

I liked the way it was written, and the story as a whole was satisfying but the ending was too abrupt...and also too much build-up before the truth was unveiled made it a bit anticlimactic...oh and too little about the main characters background - mostly regarding Cora...
