A cliche fantasy. If you like Tad Williams or fantasy in general, it's fine and fun.

First of Tad William's books that I really liked. Interesting Faerie tale, with twists and turns to keep you guessing. A bit different from typical fantasy quest stories. Overall a good read.

VERY imaginative. For some reason it reminded me of Midsummer Nights Dream. I really enjoyed the book.

An interesting standalone book about a man who ends up in a parallel Faery world and is caught in power struggles there. A long book with a slow start, but once I got into it I found it well-plotted and enjoyed the setting. In tune with the more sinister fairytale vision of other Tad Williams books or, say, Jonathan Strange, rather than the post-Tolkien elves and dwarves.

I've often seen books by Tad Williams on the fantasy shelves of book stores, but this is the first one I read. It was a very easy read, maybe a bit long in terms of page length, but never boring. Some of the plot twists were a bit predictable, but satisfying nevertheless.

Tad Williams writes an interesting fantasy novel. Once the reader can get beyond the initial drag of the plot (up until halfway through the book), it is possible to become truly immersed in the unique storyline.
