It was amazing especially getting to spend time with all the characters again, and the story plot outstanding.

Second volume of a massive story. In typicall Tad Williams, there are to many characters involved, doing to much. That's not to say its confusing. All are well developed and the action is easily visiualised. The number of characters just slows the pacing a touch.

One of my favorite books. Reminds me of the tone of Empire Strikes Back -- starts omnious, ends omnious, is delicious through and through.

Es increible como el escritor es capaz de detallar de tal forma la historia que al leerla se te es imposible no sentirte estrechamente ligado a ella.

Part two of William's epic trilogy is amazing. His depth of writing lends itself to lengthy novels that are almost impossible to put down. The middle of a series can be a bit boring if the author is not careful, because there's a lot of set up for the conclusion, but Williams story only continues to grow and evolve and become more interesting for readers. He creates new and unique experiences for each character that personalizes them and makes them seem more human and real, something that a lot of other authors try and fail at. Highly recommended.

Here be sieges, battles, enchanted forests and labyrinthine castles. The world building is richly detailed, evocative of much out of history and mythology. The characters of the scullion-turned-soldier, insane-warlock and princess-in-peril are handled so deftly by Williams that we are reminded why they became archetypes in the first place. This is everything high fantasy should be. If you are a fantasy fan, this is a must.

Book 1 was OK. Not great but OK. But the sequel is a wonderful read. The very thing that annoyed me most in the first book was what kept me hooked to this one. That being the side stories. And beautifully judged in pace. Just when I was thinking a certain character hadn't appeared for a while they would have another section. Looking forward to both books of To Green Angel Tower now!

The second book in the epic (and i really mean EPIC) trilogy moves along much faster than the first book. It is still a bit long winded and has a bit too much information but it does move the story along nicely. The story in itself is really great but i would stop short of comparing it to LOTR. It isnt something i would read more than once and it would make an awful movie!
