The 30th book in his Xanth series. But even after all this time, he's still got it - puns and all! Not a classic by any stretch, but still a fun read if you're looking for some mindless entertainment.

Piers Anthony is the author I love to hate. Or perhaps that is hate to (admit to) loving. His stories are a vast amulgamation of completely pointless puns and reader suggestions, intermersed with weak, formulaic plots, flat characters (that are always kind of heart even when fowl of mouth) and enough sexual innuendo to make you cringe. This book is about sex and temptation. The two main characters seem to spend the majority of the plot trying to resist the amorous effects of a love spring. Whilst Anthony is subtle enough to write it without breaking his own self imposed Adult Conspiracy, this only makes it come across as more dirty. There are some children along for the ride - their only purpose seeming to be to chaperone. As per usual, Anthony breaks all the "how to write good fiction" rules - he brings in people and products with no relevance to anything (except satisfying readers who want their puns in print). So why do I read him? I don't know!

Awful. Anthony very nearly ruined what has been a really interesting epic story with all the inconsistencies, unanswered questions, and plot holes.

Only book I could find, and to order from the beginning would have taken weeks... I still enjoyed it though.
