Strange. I feel sad when I finished the trilogy. No…not because Lord Of The Ring is an unhappy ending story, but to finish the 3rd book feels like I must say goodbye to all the thrilling and the incredible adventures and great moments that have been tied up with me for last two weeks. I know it’s kinda fool. I have the books and I could get back to them anytime I want to. And it’s event look more stupid since I have known the story before I read the book..lol…That’s to say how brilliant the work of Tolkien was. He was successfully magnetized his reader (read: me) to get bound to the story in deep emotion.I have no more words to describe the magnificent of Tolkien. Praise God to give him the wonderful gift. Great story from the great author…5 stars from me!!

I'm halfway through this one and so far I'm enjoying it more than I did the movie. There's so much more time to get to know the characters and care about them and I quite like that. I also prefer the way Strider/Aragorn was introduced here--I love how he actually appears to be just as threatening as all the enemies combined.Can't wait to get to the end!

Let down by the slow pace of the second half, but understandable being as it contains only three characters for the most part.

As this book says at the beginning from someone "This book is a bit boring and long winded." It is the continuation from where the Hobbit left off. But the fellowship of the ring has too many characters and different places all with weird names. I have to sit in car at lunch time at work to try and keep up with them all. Ploughed my way through it lost the plot a bit but it got better towards the end when things started to happen. Hope the Two Towers is more interesting or i give up and will just make do with the DVD. I'll never win the trivial pursuit DVD game lord of the rings at this rate ???

Took me ages to get my head round it but once I did I loved this book. A truly epic adventure and we only get to read one third in this book! I think that my favourite part was the elven forest of Lothlorien.

This is a book worth reading. The characters are great and the Elves are more 3D than in the film, BUT it's quite a slow story and the constant songs get annoying.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is one of my favorite book series of all time. I've read the series at least 4 times, the first time when I was 14. This series along with "The Hobbit" was what got me reading fantasy books for life. I recommend it for all fantasy enthusiasts.
