Dr. Thiselton is a curious choice for writer in this exegetical Commentary series, no? He's certainly up for the task, and perhaps he elected to pursue this task if only to demonstrate he had it in him. That said, I would insist that this is an essential text for anyone reviewing Paul's epistle, since I really enjoyed and appreciated Dr. Thiselton's style. The sections which demand near-exhaustive coverage, he delivers, I would say. It is with some irony, however, in light of the 1400-plus page count of this text, that I felt that the Greek was not more carefully examined. I've followed Dr. Thiselton's systematic treatment of Paul over the years, and I had all but expected the same treatment towards the required treatment of the textual matters. This does not occur here, however I am not saying the text is reviewed in adequately: just merely not under a microscope (again, this is what I had expected, and had assumed because of this volume's size). Perhaps I would have been more satisfied with the non-corrected text of this book, prior to its publication. But I must stress, what is here is worthwhile reading, without question.
