My first Harry Potter book - I skipped over TSS until it was school-required, and I still didn't like it then, but that's besdies the point. As a younger kid, this was a great way to start off the series. Rowling constructed a great storyline for this book that was easily adaptable to a movie setting. As many of these books are, the movie often makes you appreciate the book, often for the presentation of the text on screen in such a powerful way. This was no exception. The movie made me love the book that much more, but I still remember sitting on my living room couch debating whether to fall into the Harry Potter fad that all of my friends had dove into. I'm glad I decided to try it.

Until Half-Blood Prince came out, I'd alwayd veiwed this book as an outsider. It's own story that doesn't really tie in with anything. How very wrong I was. This book is so much more important than anybody could have forseen! So many things that are in the sixth and seventh book originated from here. I feel so dumb to think that ANY Harry Potter book was less important and less filled with enormously important information.Standing as my least favorite Harry Potter book, I grossly underestimated it - but it's still my least favorite - I think - because i really do love them all. I'm still deciding between the last three which one my favorite is! Anyway, great book.

A logical follow up of this Ms. Rowlings great saga. It's quite obvious that this whole series of this fairytale is planned as a one saga. All volumes are quite logical and the tale itself does not get broken in any part. This book is definitely targeted to far younger audiences than myself, but I have to admire the broadness of Ms. Rowlings imagination.

Harry barely does any magic himself. I overlooked this fact in the previous book (Sorcerer's Stone) because he was new to this whole witchcraft and wizardry business. But I just couldn't find any excuse for him in this book. Harry just happens to be one lucky son-of-a-gun to have friends like Hermione, whom I think should be the real star of this series (but unfortunately, she wasn't the one defeating Voldemort as a baby!)

Cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!1 book .Harry and tom riddle do match(not in looks.and harry stops thinking soo much as he did in the 1st book. Harry is now onto his 2nd year at Hogwarts.Suddenly pops out someone to tell harry that he is not to return to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry as something that happened 50 years ago is bound to happen again and he must away from there.Will Harry listen and stay at the Dursleys or go to hogwarts?The following part is enchanting as well as funny as there is a character popping out to make you laugh.Read the book to know.

Finished reading to Jackson and he is already begging to watch the movie and begin reading book #3. I guess that is a win for J.K. Rowling.

I supposedly missed reviewing this one between books 1 and 3... Reading this reminded me that it's the one movie in the series I never really see on tv. Azkaban used to be on all the time.

Enchanting sequel to the Sorcerer's Stone. Follow Harry as strange and scary things happen in Hogwarts. Students are being frozen like statues and Hagrid is taken into custody as key suspect. Can Harry and his friends figure out what's happening, clear Hagrid's name, and find out how to stop it before someone is killed? Another exciting adventure that's sure to have you guessing.

J K Rowling's sequel to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone carries on where the original left off. Harry is returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after the summer holidays and, right from the start, things are not straightforward. Overrated. A fair follow on from the first book but nowhere near as good as the subsequent novels. A bit of a let down.

Fun read and great escape. It's always nice to have a fantasy read to get away from reality every once in a while. J.K. Rowling also does a great job to keep readers enticed and has an amazing imagination that keeps drawing you into the story until the book is finished and you are waiting for more. The Harry Potter books were always hard to put down, I definitely read right through them and wouldn't mind reading through them again!

this book takes a dark turn. When I first read this, I thought the voices were extremly scary yelling things in a gravely voice "I SMELL BLOOD!KILL!"....yeah...creepy. But sometimes a good kind of scary is just what you need. This book is funny(as are the others) and one of the biggest mysteries in the series. By the end of it you'll slap your forhead and say "of course! it's so obvious! why didn't I think!" another one of jkr clever ways of hooking us and completley turning our theories around.
