Now this book is interesting. I loved the Ender series, and have tried to read other books be OSC, but I haven't liked them. This story is kind of weird, but I liked it. I want to read the rest of the series.

Alvin is the son of the seventh son. Tells of who he is and what he is. Excellent sotry of magic and has a touch of reality in there too.

O.S.C using his quantum multiverse theory to create an alternate frontier America. Makes me wish I knew more about American History. Seems ben franklin was a magician ! Cool!

A fascinating retelling of US history from a fantasy twist where ordinary people have extra powers and abilities. It's as if the witchcraft era was real instead of an excuse to burn strange women.

This series has varied in quality and tone, and it's unclear in this early book just how directly he's going to tie it to his religion by the end of the series, but the first couple of Alvin Maker books remain treasures nonetheless.

This and Ender's Game are what got me into reading as a child. They are both part of larger series by Orson Scott Card and both series are very good reads.

An amazing and touching book, even though it is just a first of a series, it rings true and tells a whole story. It brings to life a wonderfully crafted story, taking place in an alternate America of a few centuries ago. Very warmly recommended!
