Not as good as Piercing the Darkness or This Present Darkness...but still a good, interesting tale of good vs. evil.

This is absolutely one of my all time favorite books. It was powerful and moving and extremely well written. Peretti is a master of suspense creates vivid pictures in your head, whether humorous or disturbing. This story stayed with me a long time and its one of the few I've read multiple times.

This book is a good reminder of the difference between church or religion and actual Christianity. Church "stuff" is not the goal of Christianity; the goal is a relationship with Christ that is personal. The main character is over the church stuff, but still has a relationship with Christ. I enjoyed watching his relationship come to a better place as the book progressed. He's a former pastor who has been there and done that. His wife had also died. So, he was working through a difficult part of life. The visitation of this person that comes to town forces him to remember some tough memmories, but that helps the healing proccess and makes him trust God all the more.

This is a good read, and well worth the time.

A small Northwestern town has suddenly become a gateway for the supernatural. Sightings of angels, messianic images, a weeping crucifix with the power to heal, and a self-proclaimed prophet bring the national media and droves of curious people to this all-but-forgotten town. The startling secret behind this visitation pushes one man into a supernatural confrontation that will forever change the lives of everyone involved. I will tell you that if your a Steven King fan, you will like this book.
