Each book in this series is better than the last. I was 'meh' about Black Sun Rising. mildly interested in When True Night Falls but the final part is also by far the best. Also has one of the best anti-heroes I've come across.

EXCELLENT BOOK! If you want a rich world full of well-rounded, memorable, rich characters, then this is a book for you! The last in "The Coldfire Trilogy" by C.S. Friedman, it's stunning imagery, detailed plot, and exquisite characters will leave you breathless and dying for more! My thoughts on my favorite character, Gerald Tarrent: Love him or hate him, you know you'll remember him! A must read for anyone! The first two in the series are "Black Sun Rising" and "When True Night Falls," and should be read in order. Took me 2 days to read all three books, they were so good.

finishes up the coldfire trilogy and it ends in the only way that it could and still leave you satisfied.

Slooooow. I had a hard time finishing this. The first of the series is much better than the follow-ups.

Tarant (sp) is the best anti-hero ever. This really ties of a great series well. On my "must read" list.
