A great follow-up to "The Visual Display of Quantitative Information", providing great explanations of why certain approaches to visual communication make more sense, convey more information, and are more aesthetically pleasing than others.

A bit odd that the "narrative" doesn't really flow from one page to the other - but it's a very nice book.

I don't like it as much as Tufte's first bok, but it is definitely worth reading. I especially like the section on layering to emphasize annotation and comparisons rather than overwhelming background and chart junk. EEL

If you create grafts, love data or just need to get your point across, you have to read Tufte. His books give you in site into what is right and wrong with visual data today. You will not look data the same again.
