I am halfway through reading it and I am already loving it and waiting to read the next book too. So many emotions and so many feelings, very well written. I laugh with her, I cry with her. It's absolutely one of the best books I've read both in Amish lit and regular. The author is def. a lot better than B.Lewis.

Those that read it in our book club gave it an 8. I did as well but was really frustrated with the ending. I was also hoping it would give a better description of the culture. Worth reading!!!

WOW --- I totally did not expect what I got out of this book. Being that it is an Amish character... some felt it was too much, I loved it. I've read many many Amish fiction books, enjoyed most of them, but it was nice to have something different offered up by this author. Brave!Raw, emotional, deep, everything I didn't expect from a book that revolves around an amish girl.

One of my all time favorite amish novels.

I picked this book off the shelf at my local library and half expected to be completely bored. However, I checked it out anyway because I wanted to read something different than what I would normally choose...and I fell in love. It's a peek into a lifestyle most of us couldn't imagine having to live, yet a lifestyle that these people choose. Makes you question some of the things you complain about daily.

This book took me from the first page and would not turn loose. I laughed and cried with Hannah in this story. I cannot wait to start part 2 of this series. Hannah is such a brave young woman that had a series of tragic events in her life.

SISTERS OF THE QUILT, BOOK 1.

When Hannah dares to love across the boundaries of tradition, will she lose everything?

Despite being raised in a traditional Old Order Amish family, seventeen-year-old Hannah Lapp desires to break with custom, and marry outside the cloistered community. She's been in love with Mennonite Paul Waddell for three years, and before returning to college for his senior year, Paul asks Hannah to be his wife. Hannah accepts, aware that her choice will change her relationship with her family forever.

On the evening of their engagement, tragedy strikes and in one unwelcome encounter, all that Hannah has known and believed is destroyed. As she finds herself entangled in questions that the Old Ways of her people cannot answer, Hannah faces the possibility of losing her place in her family, in her community -- and in the heart of the man she loves.

This story had me feeling every emotion possible. I felt suspense, I physically cried, and I got severly angry just to name a few. This book will make you think over the issues it brings up. The author did a wonderful job! This is her first book...try it and see if you like it!!

Loved it! I wasn't sure if I'd get into it, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Not your usual Amish story. It felt very "real".

This entire series is superb. These are "page-turner" books and are hard to put down. The author did her homework on the Amish....very fascinating. Read #1 and you will be hooked!

It's about a plain Amish girl, Hannah, who is in love with a plain Mennonite boy, Paul, - and then she is raped...and her life changes completely... its an absolutely amazing book. i picked it up randomly at the store, not my typical read at all - but i couldn't wait for the 2nd sisters of the quilt book to come out and now i am reading that.

I'm not normally a fan of Amish romances they are too predictable but this one was not... It did get slow for a while there and I wanted to step in and fix them, but the ending was quite a surprise I'm giving it a 3.5 star as it had ne surprised at the end.
