A very important book. Obama reveals so much about his life that he shows that he's an honest person, and as far as politcians go, Barack Obama is truly sincere and honest about making a difference. A great read

An interesting read, especially if you'd like the know where Obama's strong insistence of change comes from. After reading this book, I felt much more knowledgeable about out president, and it has given me insight into how and why he makes some of the decisions he has made.

This is definitely worth reading, even if you just flip through a few pages at night before falling asleep. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because the writing was so eloquent, but once I got into the groove it was quite interesting. A great look into Obama's childhood and life until his 30's. He begins with his schooling and upbringing as a child (mainly in Indonesia and Hawaii) then discusses his interest in becoming a community organizer (mostly for the neglected black population in the Chicago area). He takes a trip to Africa to try and make a connection to his family on his father's side, who is truly African, and seems to come back feeling more confused than when he arrived. This is a very touching and eye opening novel, especially to someone not familiar with Indonesian or African culture.

Great book. Really insightful and interesting to read about someone growing up in an interracial, international family. I would strongly recommend this book to a friend.

Read this book to get a feel of our President. It is interesting to see how much he lets race decide who and what he is instead of other driving forces. It was quite slow at times and had to force myself to finish it -actually gave up twice and then went back to the book.
