I picked up this book this past Saturday at the library so I would have something to read on my break. These historical romance books are usually a quick read and are enjoyable if they are well written. I have only read the first four chapters.Again I like the dress on the cover.

I'd forgotten all about dear Liz, and she made me regret it. No one crafts historical romance like Liz and Lisa.

Lord Rothwell finally found his match! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this last book in the trilogy. Now I wish George Kemble to fall in luv too...(smile) Good Book, Good Book!

At some point, one begins to wonder just how many women were won as wagers from their dissolute fathers during the 19th century. If romance writers are to be believed, the tally must be something like 1 in 5. Carlyle's version of that romantic trope is as well-handled as they come, and throws in a couple of intriguing sidelights as well. How often, after all, are you presented with a hero who might be dying from page one? (Sure, you know he won't, but still, it's different.) Solid beach read, well researched in the way of all Carlyle's works.

Excellent book! Dark and angsty and flows very nicely. Great character development. A bit anticlimactic near the end, but definitely a must-read!
