If you are looking for a good mystery this is it. Kind of crazy like the "Ya Ya Sisters" but worth the read. One of my top ten.

Unfortunately, Boy's Life never really grabbed me. It's a coming of age type book, but wasn't riveting to me. Others in my book club really liked it.

A twelve year old boy growing up in rural Alabama in 1964. While riding along with his father on his milk delivery route, they witness a car cross the road and plunge into a lake. And there is a man handcuffed to the steering wheel!! I won't spoil the whole story, but this is excellent writing of an time gone by. Thanks to John Petrin for the referral to this great novel by Robert McCammon.

Top 5 of my last 10 years of Books I red. I just had finished today. Yeah, I mede it!!! Actually I red in Japanese translation ver. some years ago. This book I can read over and over again. It's agreat story of 12years old boy went thru a lot of events, adventure, mystereies, happiness and sadness, bright and dark side of society and how he's get grown up. Wonderful!

Boy's Life is my very favorite book. McCammon takes you back to the magic of childhood. He captures the wonderful memories of growing up in a small town, of the best friends you ever had, the agony of waiting for the classroom clock to release you for summer vacation, and so much more. This book will remain with you for a very long time - you'll find you will return to it again and again.

Great book, really captures childhood. A summer of being young and dealing with all the crazy things that come with growing up. Touted as a horror book but really a mix between mystery and fantasy. Recommend this to anyone looking for a little bit of nostalgia.

Brilliant coming of age story with some nice supernatural elements thrown in (not to be confused with Magical Realism!). The humor, the murder mystery, strange characters, all work together like a charm and the narrator's curiosity is infectious. One of my favourite books.

I absolutely loved this book! It is easily on my top 10 list and I would recommend it to anyone. It is a beautifully written story about innocence and the magic of childhood. This book is guaranteed to awaken the hidden child in all of us. You will find yourself laughing out loud, tearing up, or smiling faintly to yourself with each turn of page that is filled with both earthly and magical wonders. And on top of that, at the centre of Boy's Life is a murder mystery plot that delves into the lives and family secrets of those living in a small southern town during the 1960's... and with all that that entails... It's a MUST READ for sure!
