I liked this book because instead of being told through the anorexic girl's eyes, it is told by her little brother. The boy brings new light to anorexia, how the family struggles with the disease as well as the girl. I really liked it.

I thought this book was pretty good. I liked having it told through the brother's eyes, instead of the anorexic sister. You never realize how much others are affected by your personal suffering. You see the realities of what people go though.

it was cool. At first, I was surprise that the story wasnt tell by the anorexic herself. But then I got that it was about teh fact that it corncerns not only the person her/himself, but everybody that cares about that person. so anyways, it was cool and interesting, even thoughy if I prefer Hopkins for the teens drama. (31)

This book is incredible. Make sure that if you're recommending it to a younger individual that they are mature enough to understand. Vrettos is obviously well-informed about eating disorders. I work in a treatment facility for teenage girls like Karen, and this book was very emotional for me because the things expressed in it are, unfortunately, so true. An amazing book that I would recommend highly.

This book left me *almost* feeling hollow at the way it was resolved. However, I was able to truly believe all of the characters as they were extraordinarily real, and accept the progression of circumstances easily. Not the most insightful look into an eating disorder, but it serves its purpose.

From the start, I wasn't too sure about the outcome of this book. But, it was a very good read. It is about a boy who, as the cover says, IS trying to survive, and his sister is anorexic and she is struggling and stiving to be thin! There are a lot of family issues that come along in the book, as a sort of eye-opener to all. It really can help people realize the little things that can eventually effect many many people. All in all, I give this book 5 stars, which means that you should definitely check it out!!! =D

It wasnt that exciting, i expected more from a drastic description of "She was dying to be thin. He was struggling to survive.

-Skin- did little for me. The story is told through the eyes of a little boy whose sister is anorexic. I was continually amazed by the boy's lack of any real emotion or insight. The novel felt ingenuine.

A shocking, yet realistic look at the damage an eating disorder can have on a family. This is a very good book, but be careful about reading it if you've had real life experience w/ anorexia, because it is VERY sad.

This book gives a look at anorexia from another side. Donnie's sister is going through the disease while his parents are constantly fighting. It was very emotional, but such a great read.

a really good book that makes people realize what an eating disorder can do to other people. the book may have been a good read, but was sort of a slow read, it took me awhile to really get into the book, but once i did it was worth it

The best teen novel I have read in years, and that's saying something cause I read these all the time. I read it as an advance from the publisher and immediately fell in love with it. Vrettos is an important new voice!
