Et tu, Brut, then down with Caesar. Love that line. One of the classics of Shakespeare. Cassius - manipulative but a coward, Brutus honorable, to his detriment, and Mark Anthony claiming Brutus to be "the noblest one of them all".

this is an amazing piece of literature. i had to read it for freshman year of high school and loved every minute of t, mostly because of my fantastic teacher who is great at explaining things. sparknotes.com "no fear shakespear" also helped a lot! but really, a great piece of literature.

In my view WS best early work, clean, clear, translates easily to a contemporary venue. The language crosses the 500 years with ease.

Superbly written, almost like a song!! I couldn't put the book down. This was my first personal reading of shakespeare and I have to say, he is one of my top authors now!

Cleanest language, by this I mean it can be very clearly understood even after 400 plus years. Straightforward story, strong characters. Great first play for students. Good themes. Although I love Hamlet, MSD, Tempest, 12 Night,Macbeth and Lear, I think JC is WS perfect theatrical (ie not to be read, to be seen ) play.
