I'm sure it was a very bright and socially progressive novel for its time, but in this day and age, where no high school students have experienced even segregation, the racial themes are a bit dated. It's not like we still don't have anything to learn from Huck Finn and his moral dilemmas, it's just that they barely, if not at all, apply to everyday living in today's society.

Lost patience with this one. Does it ever end? Maybe my expectations were too high, but this book never got its hooks into me. I got 2/3 of the way through and finally put an end to the pain.

Similar to The adventers of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn continues to describe the exploits of a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River however in this novel, the adventures are told from Huck's realist perspective rather than Tom Sawyer's romantic narrations.
