A través de las cínicas palabras de Maurice Bendrix nos presenta el autor un triángulo amoroso en el que la protagonista femenina, Sarah, se debate entre la lealtad adúltera hacia su marido y la pasión celosa y enfermiza, rayana al odio en ocasiones de su amante, y como música de fondo de los bombardeos en un Londres en plena guerra. Aparentemente son estos celos los que ponen fin al romance, o eso cree el lector hasta que es consciente de la presencia de un tercero en discordia por el cuerpo y alma de Sarah, y bastante más posesivo que los anteriores...

To my surprise, I blitzed right through this book, and I enjoyed the balance of a good story with intriguing ideas about life, God, relationships, and hate. I haven't seen the movie, but the book is worth the time.

Very well written. Describes the obsessive love really well. Good to know men can have such delicate feelings. Not so great ending with the heavy religious feel. Reminded me of the films they used to show at Christmas about virgin Mary ...
