next to the Bible itself, this is one of the best atheist resources out there. this book, however, is well-written. As Mills points out in his forward, he spent a considerable effort to make the book more easy and enjoyable to read by editing it for brevity. for this he deserves credit, because some writers on the subject, like Christopher Hitchens' writing style tends to be stilted and long-winded. I particularly liked the interview chapter.

Fantastic! Couldn't put it down. An intelligent and accurate argument for evolution and the Big Bang explained... not the stuff creationists tried to pass up to me all my life. All good stuff aside from a random chapter citing the author's views on internet porn - a little random and out of place. Skip it if you want, but read the rest!

Great book for atheists. Christian readers will have difficulty reading it if they are easily offended or cannot maintain an open mind. It has a very approachable style of writing and is a good collection of responses to common criticisms launched by Christians against atheists.

The author does tend to make sweeping generalizations (on both sides of the argument). You should ignore those generalizations and focus on his main points to avoid getting stuck. For Christian readers, you should understand that he is often referring to "Christian Fundamentalists" rather than mainstream Christians -- but you also need to be honest with yourself about how strong the correlation of belief systems is between those two groups.

Really not worth reading if you've already read and enjoyed Dawkins...Mills isn't particularly convincing, and he's actually quite annoying.

Still in the middle of it -- it's hard to digest all at once. He manages to explore the atheist philosophy and viewpoint without descending to assholery, which is a big plus.
